Smoke and heat extraction (RWA)

The term smoke and heat extraction installations designates all the structural and technical equipment used in a system for the controlled extraction of smoke and heat from buildings and facilities in the event of a fire with subsequent discharge into the open air.

This includes smoke extraction openings, together with openings through which the new air can flow in from the outside or overpressure be discharged into the open environment. The primary purpose of a smoke and heat displacement system is to protect persons, but the protection of property, structures and valuable assets can also be achieved in this way.
